Hello Emmaus Families! We are so excited to celebrate the holidays with you and we have lots of activities headed our way! Please read this Comet Connection carefully and look over all the flyers and information that is being sent home today. Next week, there is no school as the teachers head off to our Lutheran Educators Conference in Palm Desert on Sunday. We will get to learn new strategies for teaching and have great fellowship with each other and other Lutheran educators. Please pray for a safe and productive conference.

As we head into the Thanksgiving holiday it is our prayer that you and your family take time to be with each other and be grateful for the many blessings the Lord has bestowed upon you. Our faculty and staff are very grateful for our Emmaus students and their families. Thank YOU for trusting us with your child's education!

School Starts at 8:15 a.m.

Please try to have all students here on time, ready to learn at 8:15 a.m. You can drop students off starting at 7:55. We were lenient on tardies to start the year off, but we will be marking tardies on the report cards from now on. Please do your best to have your student(s) here on time.

Holiday shopping is just around the corner (or maybe you've even started already!) If you use Amazon, don't forget to save or bookmark SMILE.amazon.com and designate "Emmaus First Evangelical Lutheran Church" as your charity... some of the proceeds will go to benefit our church and school! Thank you!

Sees Candy Fundraiser starts TODAY! Order forms went home with each student. Please have order forms turned in by November 30th.

Please sign up by this Wednesday, Nov 17th!

Your child will need to bring their own home lunch along with snacks & a water for each day they are signed up for.

Thanksgiving Break EDC

This year we will be open for Thanksgiving Break Monday & Tuesday, we need 15 signups for each day to be open. Please indicate an arrival time and a pickup time on the days you wish to sign up for so that we can schedule staff accordingly. Please turn form in with the payment on or before November 17th. The form went home with students today.

Occasional EDC users $40 per child per day.

Full Time EDC users $30 per child per day.

Eat Out Night on November 29th

Join us for Eat Out Night on Monday, November 29th at the Chipotle in Alhambra from 4-8 p.m. This is a great way to grab a meal and also support Emmaus! Students may wear Spirit Shirts on that day.

Comet Commitment: Community

Our Comet Commitment of the week is Community

Students serve others within the school community and the community.
Students participate in campus events that reach out to the community.

Emmaus is very proud of the many ways our students serve the community. From making cards to the veterans, giving chapel offerings for charities, raising money for St. Judes Hospital, collecting goods for refugees, and now we're collecting pajamas for the needy.
