Comet Connection

Dear Emmaus Families,

What a great week last week! The cooler weather was definitely a blessing! There is a lot of information this week; please be sure to read everything.

We are thankful to Pastor Jow for his message at chapel last Wednesday reminding us that as believers in Christ, we are all disciples of Jesus. We learned about one disciple in particular, Andrew, who went and told many people about Jesus and encouraged them to become disciples as well. Parents are always invited to chapel–Wednesday at 8:30 a.m.

What a great first week of volleyball! The teams played well in their games, and both teams won their game on Thursday against Hope, Glendora. More importantly, though, I was very impressed with our girls and their sportsmanship. They treated each other and the other teams with respect and kindness.

Our assemblyman, Mike Fong, came and visited with our 4th-8th grade students on Thursday. He, along with his assistants, discussed and taught our students a little bit about California government. Question and answer time was allowed as well. Our students were good listeners and participated well.

Blessings on your week as we continue to Soar!

Mrs. Cynthia Spiva
