COMFORT AT THE FUR PEACE RANCH
|
|
The Fur Peace Ranch's 20th season is off to a great start. Lots of golden moments of music, friendship and all that goes along with
the Fur Peace Ranch experience. Over the years there have been many improvements around the Ranch and indeed some of these have been inspired by FPR students and friends.
Years ago when students arrived at the Ranch we would give them a
"HELLO MY NAME IS" sticker to identify them as a student. One of our
dear friends, Jason, suggested that using a laminate would be a much
cooler way to accomplish the student name tag issue. We listened and
started making our special FPR laminate passes and we change them up
every year. It was a great idea and it is so much cooler. Thank you
Jason!
With the same spirit in mind....one of our dear students, Doug, suggested recently that we might think about updating our classroom
chairs. Even though they have a cushion...they can be hard on the hind end after hours of sitting in class. Vanessa jumped right on it and we
are happy to announce the arrival of our NEW choir chairs. Guaranteed
to keep parishioners and choir members comfortable in their seats for
hours.....and great for Fur Peace students too. Thanks Doug!
Check these comfy seats out. We've got one waiting for you on your next visit.
We hope to C U Soon!

The story of Phillip Rosen, a student at
Fur Peace Ranch
Phillip Rosen happens to be with us this weekend joining Instructor
ERIC BIBB " Finding Your Inner Blues"
|
"I’ve been back more than 20 times. I’ve stopped counting. At first I went mostly for the instruction. Now it’s at least as much for the vibe, and the camaraderie. It’s always like coming home. And, it’s a place where there’s such a reservoir of good will that you can have a civil conversation about anything, with people with whom you might violently disagree. That’s hard to find these days (for me, that’s the definition of a safe place – where you can say something stupid and learn and argue about it)." - Phillip Rosen

"Jim Poobah Gustafson with Legendary Jefferson Airplane /Hot Tuna guitarist Jorma Kaukonen at Fur Peace Ranch afternoon Concert featuring Jorma on his Martin JORMA K Model, a spectacular guitar. I know cause he let me play it !!! Today in Pomeroy, Ohio. Did I mention I love Martin guitars?" — at Fur Peace Ranch.
Jorma with Jim Poobah Gustafson at Pho Peace Restaurant
"What a great place! Never tried Pho before but my wife and I both had the beef and it was FANTASTIC! The pickled veggies were good as well (wasn't brave enough to try the spicy, maybe next time). We got there early and, as a special treat, we had a nice lunch and conversation with Jorma and Vanessa. These people are awesome, and everyone at the Ranch are so friendly and accommodating. You can tell they love what they are doing. At noon, Jorma and John treated us to an hour of great tunes and some sing-a-longs as well! What a great time! Too bad we can't give 10 stars....we WILL be back!"
- Bruce Adams
"There were four in our party- we were seated promptly, served quickly and enjoyed the crispy fermented veggies with just a touch of extra zing (spicy) and served a heaping
bowl of pho
. The side dishes of fresh herbs, plum sauce or chili sauce allowed all to enjoy it their own way. We will be back!!!!!"
