The Colorado Springs Children’s Chorale (CSCC) presents the Southern Colorado In Harmony Festival at the Pikes Peak Center on May 1-3, culminating with a concert on May 3, at 7 p.m.
Schools throughout the Pikes Peak Region participate in the In Harmony Festival, and the CSCC has nurtured and educated thousands of young people, offering them a safe place in which to learn about music and themselves. The CSCC level of musical excellence inspires young people to reach higher, believe in themselves, and become confident and healthy community members. Through the artistic process and performance they learn how to work with others and garner skills that will serve them and the communities they live in throughout their lives.
This year the Festival truly represents the southern Colorado region with school choirs from Pueblo and Fountain/Ft. Carson joined with choirs from Widefield District 3, District 11, District 20, and the Pikes Peak Singers of the Children’s Chorale! There are 473 singers enrolled in this festival!
It’s a great community event celebrating the art of singing! Joining together through song erases all barriers; bringing young people from all walks of life together for a common purpose. Artistic expression and self-expression through music is part of our shared humanity. The Children’s Chorale offers an avenue for young people to participate in a deeper understanding of those essential links between people. Creating confident, compassionate, community-minded young people is more important in this world than ever before.
