Weekend Closure of the 91/Perris Valley Line

October 17 and 18, 2026

The Riverside County Transportation Commission (RCTC) and Metrolink have scheduled a two-day weekend closure of the 91/Perris Valley Line in the cities of Perris, Moreno Valley, and part of Riverside on October 17 and 18, 2026.

Metrolink train service will be suspended at the Perris-South, Perris-Downtown, Moreno Valley/March Field, and the Riverside-Hunter Park Metrolink stations on Saturday, October 17 and Sunday, October 18. Service will resume on Monday, October 19.

The weekend closure is needed to allow crews to safely perform critical construction activities as part of the Perris-South Metrolink Station and Layover Facility Project, including construction of a new retaining wall, grading for the platform extension, demolition of a segment of the existing platform, track work, and required inspections before the track is returned to service.

PLAN AHEAD

No alternate bus or shuttle service will be provided at the affected stations. Passengers traveling to or from the affected stations should plan ahead and arrange alternate transportation.

Service from the Riverside-Downtown, Riverside-La Sierra, Corona-North Main, Corona-West, and other 91/Perris Valley Line stations will operate on the regular Saturday and Sunday schedules.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

RCTC, in partnership with Metrolink, Caltrans, and the City of Perris, is expanding the Perris-South Metrolink Station and adjacent train layover facility. The project will add a second passenger loading platform at the station, new canopies and other passenger amenities, over 1,000 feet of new station track, and a fourth track at the layover maintenance facility to help improve Metrolink service operations.
