Thank You for Playing Bingo!

Avondale House hosted the 2nd annual Bingo Bash on October 7th at the Junior League of Houston, hosting 228 guests who enjoyed exciting rounds of Bingo hosted by Briana Conner of ABC13.

The event raised just over $106,000 for the expansion of services at Avondale House. “There is an incredible demand for the autism services which we provide, and we have to do something to answer the call we get from every family in our community that needs us. We truly rely on our generous supporters to make our strategic vision come true, and the proceeds from this event gets us closer to our goals!” said Development Director, Michele Wiseley.

Special thanks to our co-chairs, Bryan and Suzanne Monk! They brought together a wonderful committee who gave heart and soul to host a wonderful 2nd annual event!

Very special thanks to our awesome mission-moment speaker and Avondale House Mom, Tracy Johnson, who touched every heart in the room.

Avondale House is eternally grateful for the outpouring of support from our donors, sponsors, and volunteers that made this event so special. We'll see you next year!

Capital One Makes a Difference at Avondale House

We are pleased to announce a new partnership with Capital One, through the Capital One Impact Initiative. The initiative is focused on creating a world where everyone has an equal opportunity to prosper by advocating for an inclusive society, building thriving communities and creating financial tools that enrich lives.

Avondale House has been awarded a $15,000 grant to support and expand the Employment Services Program. “We are thrilled that Capital One is partnering with us in our efforts to provide high-quality supported employment services to any individual in greater Houston area with a primary diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder. Everyone desires and deserves to obtain meaningful employment, and Capital One acknowledges the necessity for workforce development programs within their funding pillars ”, said Avondale House CEO, Steve Vetrano. “We are incredibly grateful for their support and look forward to our partnership”, he said.

The Employment Services program officially launched in August 2019 at Avondale House and is guided by the principle of informed choice. Client employment goals inform the services that are provided and are consistent with the client’s strengths, resources, interests, and capabilities. While the Covid-19 pandemic stalled initial program growth, Avondale House is now poised to double the clients we are able to provide services through the support of our generous partners like Capital One.
