PARKING LOT and PICK UP REMINDER
Everyone seems to be in such a hurry these days, and maybe we forget sometimes that this is a school campus, with children exiting and entering cars, high school student drivers, visitors, etc.
PLEASE slow down, be courteous to each other, keep the traffic circle moving, and STOP and follow directions when a staff member is out there directing traffic. It is for the safety of ALL.
1st - 8th Grade Dismissal - if you are picking up a 1st - 8th grade student, please do not arrive on campus before 2:40 pm. Plan your arrival AFTER the Cardinal Newman dismissal, which is at 2:30 pm. St. Rose families should not be lining up in the parking lot until AFTER 2:40 PM.
PLEASE SHARE THIS INFORMATION WITH GRANDPARENTS OR OTHERS WHO ARE PICKING UP YOUR CHILDREN.

HEALTH ALERT
It's COLD & FLU SEASON!
The flu has arrived to St. Rose. It is imperative that we all work together to prevent the spread of illness. Please encourage your children to practice good manners, cover the mouth when sneezing, and wash hands frequently, etc. And please know, that all classroom desks are cleaned - disinfected regularly.
If your child is suffering from a cold or may be coming down with flu symptoms, please keep your child home. If a child is not feeling their best, chances are we will call you to come pick them up, so it would be best if they just stayed home until healthy again and ready to focus on a full day of classwork. Make-up work can be requested for pick-up if you call the absence line before 9am.
Please refer to pages 8 - 9 in the Parent / Student Handbook for school policy on Health and Illness.
The link is always available at the bottom of this weekly newsletter.

Dear Parents,
Happy New Year! We are off to a great start. At last night’s Parent Association meeting, plans were shared for the upcoming Crab Feed which promises to be a fun and lucrative event for our school.
As this is one of two major fund raisers, it is imperative that every family participate. If you are unable to attend an alternate form of support is helping your child sell raffle tickets. Tickets were sent home to each family before Christmas and are due in the office by February 5
th
.
Your child has the opportunity to win some great prizes, such as Principal of the Day, and a field trip with Mr. Laurice, our science teacher.
At this time of year, we begin to focus heavily on recruitment and enrollment for the upcoming new school year. Currently our enrollment sits at 244 students. Our ideal number is 260 students. Enrollment in Grades K – 3 is capped at 28 students. For Grades 4 – 8 the cap is 34 students. Although some of the classes are filled with waiting lists, there is generally space for everyone who wants to come. A special focus for the 2020-21 school year is to ensure a full Kindergarten class and to bolster the enrollment in the current First, Fourth, and Fifth Grade classes. Remember that we offer a tuition credit of $300 to any family whose assistance leads to a new enrollment.
We appreciate our parents as ambassadors for St. Rose School. Our new website is finished, and will be coming live within the next few weeks. Our new promotional video will be prominently featured there for potential new families to view. In the meantime, please feel free to refer to us any family you think might be interested in offering their children the gift of a St. Rose education.
Have a nice week.
