For the last several months, we have marked the end of the month in worship with a Mulberry Ministry Moment: a chance to hear from members of our church about the impact Mulberry has had on them and why they support our church with their prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness. We have heard many wonderful stories and I’m grateful to each of our presenters!
For the next Mulberry Ministry moment, we will welcome President Meaghan Blight of Wesleyan College. We have an historic connection to Wesleyan, helping facilitate their founding and having our pastors go back and forth to be presidents of Wesleyan. In fact, the decision to work toward creating the first college to grant degrees to women in the world was made in our sanctuary in 1835. In January, 1836, the Georgia Conference, meeting in our sanctuary again, approved of the plan and sent the charter off to the Georgia Legislature for final approval.
On Sunday, I will share additional details about our historic connection to Wesleyan College as I welcome President Blight to speak to us. I’m looking forward to hearing from her as she tells us about her vision for Wesleyan College and how we can be supportive of Wesleyan, furthering our historic connection.
So come and join us in worship at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, April, 30!
