Love Your Neighbor!

For the month of October, our theme is LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR!

This week we're reading "Have You Filled a Bucket Today?" by Carol McCloud. By imagining that everyone has an invisible bucket that needs filling, the book helps illustrate the importance of loving ourselves as well as our neighbors. Having a "full bucket" helps all of us be our best selves! We can all help make sure everyone's imaginary bucket is full by doing kind things for the people in our lives.

We hope you enjoy this week's online storytelling video.

Our next KNO is Tomorrow, October 16!

Kid's Night Out is the 3rd Friday of the month from 6 - 8 p.m. This month will be a bit different, since our church buildings will be full of preparations for our first annual Fall Fest!

This Friday we will meet in the Upper Room (in the building where the preschool is), order pizza (since the kitchen and Fellowship Hall being used for Fall Fest Prep!) and explore some new places at church! We'll also do a craft and read a story that help us think about loving our neighbors!

Blessing the Animals: Sunday October 18

Each year we celebrate our animal neighbors and family by inviting them to church for a special blessing! You are invited to bring your furry, feathered, and/or scaly family members to church on October 18 to be blessed! You may also bring a photo if bringing your animal(s) is too difficult. It's a fun day to see many people's animals at church and to remember how important animals are in our lives.

Here's a short video from last year's blessing:

To celebrate our success, we will hold a “Sunday Sundae” - that is, an ice cream feast, after worship on Sunday, October 18. This is also the Sunday of Blessing of the Beasts, so we hope to see lots of families (and pets) that day.
