This Week's Weekly Encouragement Post:

If you haven't checked out this week's "Weekly Encouragement" post yet,   here is the link to do so!

"God has so arranged the body ... that there may be no dissension within the body, but the members may have the same care for one another. If one member suffers, all suffer together with it..." If I do not recognize the suffering experienced by my sisters and brothers of color-the suffering for which I am partly responsible-and if I do not help to alleviate that suffering, then I am not a part, myself, of Christ's body.

Want to receive these posts directly? Let our Communications Director, Sarah, know at sfoote@stpaulsrva.org.
Did You Know.........

........ That St. Paul's has a YouTube channel? ? On it, you'll find videos from Choral Evensongs, interviews with clergy, full services, guest preachers' sermons, and even our entire "Bending Toward Truth" forum from last Spring.  Check it out here, and don't forget to "subscribe" for more from St. Paul's!
Thanking the Rev. Molly Bosscher

Please make sure you make it to St. Paul's on  Sunday, May 26  to celebrate Molly's final service and her time with us, as well as her new calling to St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan. We will worship together with Molly at 10:00 am, followed by a send-off celebration in Scott Hall

For those who wish to contribute to a "purse" for Molly, you may do so by sending a check made out to St. Paul's, with  "Molly's Purse"  noted on memo line, or you can do so through the online giving page on our website  here . Use the drop down box under the  "Select a Fund" box , then select "Molly's Purse". Or, feel free to call Rich or Aliesha in the office at (804) 643-3589.

Let's send Molly off in style, and take the time to appreciate all she's done for St. Paul's!

BBQ Dinner @ Alamo BBQ
Tuesday, May 14th @ 6:30 p.m.

Picture from: http://wheresthebbq.blogspot.com/2012/05/alamo-bbq-in-richmond-va.html

Want some time to simply hang out and enjoy a meal during what often turns into springtime busyness?  Please consider joining us for a BBQ dinner! We will be meeting at Alamo BBQ- we are planning to sit outside on their patio area. If the weather is rainy, we will plan to meet at ZZQ in Scott's Addition instead (this decision will be made by that Tuesday, May 12th, at noon). Note: Alamo also offers vegetarian sides as well as fish tacos.

St. Paul's will cover the cost of food, just plan bring extra money for any beverages that you might like!

Please let Keli know if you are interested in attending (by that evening is more than fine).

URGENT NEED: Travel-Sized Toiletries
for Emmaus Guests!

Our Emmaus guests still need your help! Our weekly Thursday lunch program is looking for the following items to hand out to our guests (all travel sizes): Lotion, shampoo, deodorant, razors, hand sanitizer, lip balm, tooth paste, tooth brushes.

We are also looking for some more people to come and interact with our guests. It could be as easy as simply talking with someone, playing cards or even board games. It is equally important in this ministry to provide true fellowship to our guests, as it is to provide the meal. (If you're curious as to what this is like, check out the Rev. Bill Queen's recent sermon on our website, "Experiencing Emmaus, Experiencing Jesus.")

If you are interested, please contact Lwilliams@stpaulsrva.org.  Thank you for your help!

St. Paul's Prayers
Contact: Carter Johann
We pray for the Churches and religious institutions of Metropolitan Richmond: For all religious communities, abbeys, orders, brotherhoods, sisterhoods, religious societies, and para-church organizations.

We pray for all the Baptized in their daily work, especially those of our congregation and community who are in providing emergency response services, including regular and volunteer fire and ambulance personnel, EMTs and ER personnel.

We pray for those who are ill: for Olin Hyde; Suzanne Spooner-Munch; Dan Benn, partner of Gail James, and Joseph, brother of Anne Dobson. We also pray for those who are no longer with us: for Sara Curry, aunt of Ginny Campbell, and for Jean LeRoy.

Almighty God, we entrust all who are dear to us to your never-failing care and love, for this life and the life to come, knowing that you are doing for them better things than we can desire or pray for; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

We would also like to extend a special prayer for the St. Paul's Search Committee:

Almighty God, look graciously on the people of St. Paul's. Be with us and lead us as we seek the next rector for our church. We ask your direction and guidance for those who shall choose our new spirtual leader; that we may receive an upright and faithful pastor who will care for your people and equip us for our ministries, breaking down the walls that separate us from our neighbors, uniting us in bonds of love, and working through our struggle and confusion to seek reconciliation in Richmond and the world. Grant us perception, faithfulness and joy, so that we may hear your voice in all our deliberations; that in our diversity we may be all of one heart & soul, united in one holy bond of truth and peace, of faith and charity. Grant us also the desire and the ability to truly hear each other and those who have entrusted us with this process. Give us courage to respond and act as you lead us. Come Holy Spirit.

We pray this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

If you would like to add a name to the prayer list, please contact Administrative and Membership Associate, Carter Johann, at cjohann@stpaulsrva.org or (804) 643-3589.
