April 6 is #LibraryGivingDay!
|
|
|
|
Library Giving Day is a national one-day fundraising event with the goal of encouraging people who enjoy public libraries to make a donation in support of their own library.
Will you honor Goodnow with a gift to the GLF?
In celebration of #LibraryGivingDay, those who give $100 or more from now until April 6 will receive one of the GLF's new tote bags for free!

A Note From the GLF Office
Holly Bernene, Director of Development

Hello friends,
Spring is just around the corner, and I can’t wait. I love the longer days, warmer weather, fresh flowers, and green grass. It’s a time of renewal and celebration. In this light, it’s the perfect time to embrace and celebrate our love of the Goodnow Library and all that it offers our local community.
Did you know that April 3 – 9, 2022 is National Library Week? We at the Goodnow Library Foundation look forward to celebrating the contributions that Goodnow and its staff make to the town of Sudbury and beyond.
In the meantime, it’s never too early to salute Esmé Green, Director extraordinaire of Goodnow. Here’s what the Book Nook volunteers recently had to say about Esmé on social media (and I couldn’t agree more!):

|
As always, my hope is that this newsletter pulls you closer to Goodnow by bringing you news of upcoming opportunities and connecting you more closely with Library patrons, volunteers, staff, and others in the local Library community. You can also learn more by following us on Facebook and Instagram.
As I said, I am anxiously awaiting the change of seasons. Goodbye Winter, Hello Spring!
Cheers –
Holly

Be Bold with Shee Shee Van Inwegen
|
|
The Goodnow Library Foundation invites you to its second Be Bold event of 2022 on Tuesday, April 12 @ 7pm! Shee Shee Van Inwegen will be sharing about What's Next in Your Emptying Nest.
Does this describe you? Maybe your kids went away and came back. Several times. Perhaps they never left. Nevertheless, eventually, they will go. And there you'll be. The work of parenting won't ever end, but it'll sure be different. Shee Shee Van Inwegen, Founder and Senior Strategist at Life Stage Strategies, will talk about:
• What You Want
• Who You'll Be
• Holding On
• Letting Go
This will be a hybrid event (livestreaming via Facebook Live and then uploaded to the GLF's YouTube channel); registration for in-person attendance will open Monday. (We will send a separate eblast with registration info, but you can also keep an eye out for information on our Facebook and Instagram accounts.)

"My favorite spot in the Goodnow Library is the circular table beside the ramp on the second floor where I’m mostly hidden but can still see who passes by. When I need to stretch my legs, I stroll down to the children’s section, peruse picture books and remember story times with my babies, now grown. The library is where I write, read, and sometimes escape to for a quiet cup of coffee. For more than twenty years, the library has been an extension of my home."
