La asambleísta Dra. Darshana Patel (D-76, San Diego) se complace en anunciar a la Dra. Star Rivera-Lacey, Superintendente/Presidenta de Palomar College, como la Mujer Distinguida del Año 2025 del Distrito 76.
La Dra. Rivera-Lacey estudió en MiraCosta College antes de obtener una licenciatura en Estudios Liberales de Cal State San Marcos. Posteriormente, completó una maestría en Educación con énfasis en Consejería Multicultural en la Universidad Estatal de San Diego y un doctorado en Educación a través del programa de doctorado conjunto SDSU/Claremont Graduate University. Su trayectoria encarna el poder transformador de la educación y su capacidad para inspirar cambios positivos en la comunidad.
Con 28 años de experiencia en educación superior, la Dra. Rivera-Lacey ahora dirige Palomar College, uno de los distritos de colegios comunitarios más grandes de California, donde promueve el éxito y la accesibilidad estudiantil. Sus esfuerzos de reforma educativa se centran en ampliar el acceso, la retención y la finalización de estudios, especialmente para las poblaciones marginadas.
