Business, Labour & Community: Planning for Prosperity!

Coming soon! 2015 Labour Market Plan: A multi-year plan for Labour Market Development in Hamilton

warehouse_illustration.jpg Workforce Planning Hamilton will be releasing the 2015 Labour Market Plan at the end of October.

The plan includes an update on Hamilton's current labour market conditions, including unemployment, employment and participation trends over time; top industries by employment; top occupational groups by employment and job posting data.

After consulting with employers and stakeholders in the employment and training community the multi-year plan which we established last year has been updated.

We are excited to collaborate with our community on these projects.  WPH encourages education and training institutions, businesses, industry organizations and labour to use the data and information we have compiled to guide their upcoming actions to meet current and future labour market needs.
Easier access to post-secondary credentials for college and university students

On October 8, 2015 the province launched a new online education portal that will give Ontario post secondary students access to thousands of accredited online college and university courses.

The new web portal, which will give students greater flexibility to complete their courses, houses more than 13,000 online courses and includes:
  • A searchable catalogue of courses offered online
  • Access to 277 new and redesigned courses with transferable credits between participating institutions
  • Features that easily and immediately identify credit transfer information
  • Support and resources for faculty on how to design and deliver online courses
  • Academic and technical support resources for all users.
In total, Ontario is investing $72 million over five years to support the development and operation of eCampus Ontario. All 45 publicly-assisted colleges and universities in Ontario are offering online courses on the web portal.

In this session we will explore just what boundaries are, examine some common workplace issues, and provide tips on how to create healthy boundaries that are not only good for you, but great for your entire team.
