Summer Reading Programs For All Ages!

We have two amazing reading programs happening at all 3 branches all summer long.

For adults, we have an amazing mix of events, outdoor movies, and special reading programs packed with awards adults will love. Find out more about the adult program here.

Keep a log of books that you read through Labor Day to win Book Bucks and be entered into drawings for prizes of gift cards, swag bags, and other awesome book-ish surprises!

Reading Logs are provided at all Information Desks. If you register online, your first one will be emailed to you.

Plus we have special programs, "Book-to-Screen" outdoor movies, and more!
Kids, teens, and families will experience live performances, engaging music, interactive stories, and other fun events. Read more here.
Readers can win a free book and a ticket for every 6 hours of reading. Pre-readers win a free book and a ticket for a prize drawing for every 30 books. August is the cut-off for logging a summer of reading.

The Summer Reading Finale on August 10 th is when top readers will be revealed. Tickets and free books can be picked-up at any library location for every reading milestone.

Community Conversations at Barns of Rose Hill

Date : June 9th
Time: 4PM
Location: Clarke County Library, Off-Site at the Barns of Rose Hill
A community Conversation with a panel. The goal is to have the community share their experiences, concerns, and ideas on race and racism, cultural differences, perspectives, and how exposure to different experiences opens minds.
Teen Field Day at Shenandoah University

Join us for a Field Day just for teens with bubble soccer, beach volleyball and other games!
Rockin' the Library

Meet special authors and illustrators as they parade down to the streets in front of the library as we celebrate our love of reading. Live music, free signed books, cupcakes, and more.

DVDs & Blu-Ray: Take Home a Movie Tonight, For Free!
We have thousands of DVDs including the latest movies, classic movies, TV series, foreign films, British telly, documentaries, how-to, family films, and more.

Outdoor Movie for Adults: Breakfast at Tiffany's
Date :June 28th
Time : 8PM
Location : Bowman Library

Join us for our 2019 Book to Screen Outdoor Movie Series as part of our Adult Summer Reading Program, It’s Showtime at Your Library! All movie events will be rain or shine and will move inside if needed.

Bring blankets and lawn chairs to sit on outside. Movie start time will be as close to 8:30 PM as possible
Big Rig BBQ will be onsite selling food to attendees.
