Hello Seattle families,
It's my first day as SEA's president and I'm excited to get straight to work mobilizing our bargain so that we can win what our students and staff need to succeed.
We have really appreciated the information and feedback you've provided in our family survey. If you haven't yet, please take 3 minutes to let us know what you think.
Support SEA's bargain next Thursday
Our SEA bargaining team has been hard at work developing proposals and honing strategy, and now it’s time to sit down with SPS and advocate for the changes our students and educators need. Come show your dedication to a successful bargain at the John Stanford Center next Thursday, June 25 from 12 noon – 1pm. This is also the first day of bargaining with SPS. Please wear RED to represent strength and solidarity.
We’ll be making proposals based on our bargaining interests, which are available in Amharic, Simplified Chinese, English, Somali, Spanish, and Vietnamese on our community bargaining update website.
What you can expect this summer
SEA will continue sending bargaining updates and posting updates to our Facebook and Instagram.
We currently have 23 dates scheduled with SPS to bargain this summer. Our plan is to partner with the district and work together to improve our student and staff experiences. It should become clear quickly if our priorities are not aligned. Should that happen, we will utilize support from both SEA members, and the community to build the power that is critical to win at the bargaining table.
Show your support for WEA
We bring more power to the bargaining table to win for our students when we show SPS families support us. Take a minute to show you’re backing SEA, then share it with 3 friends!
