Senior Services is Looking for a Volunteer
We are looking for a volunteer to continue the Card Program. The volunteer writes wonderful and inspiring birthday, get well, sympathy, or congratulations cards for members of our community depending on the request. We are grateful to Susan Wiitala, who has stepped down from the position after numerous years, for the many hours and beautiful words that she has written. If you see Susan, please thank her.

Card Program
Have you heard about the Senior Card program? It has been in existence for many years, quietly engaging and providing outreach to seniors in our community by sending cards to seniors for celebrations, sorrows, or just to let someone know that people are thinking about them. We hope to brighten the recipient's day and bring a smile to their face by receiving a card.

Let's Brew Together
The more time Americans spend socially with family and friends, the more likely they are to report enjoyment and happiness in their lives without a lot of stress and worry. Overall, Americans’ self-reported mood improves with each hour of social time they spend in a day, up to about seven hours. Let’s boost each other’s moods and spend some time together! We will have coffee and light snacks – join us at the Senior Center, where we hope to grow connections and get to know each other better. Meets the first Friday monthly.

The Lap Robers is a group that creates small lap quilts to donate to area charities.. If you enjoy quilting and helping others, this group would love to have additional members join them! This group meets on the second and fourth Thursday of each month.

Guitar Lessons
This guitar class is for the absolute beginner. Students will learn basic chords, picking patterns, strumming, rhythm and notes on the fretboard to enjoy playing various songs. Please bring a 6-string guitar to class. Teaching materials will be provided. Instructor: Felicity Muench.

Ukulele Lessons
Everyone will realize they can be a ukulele player in this beginning ukulele class. This class will provide students with instant access to making music and having fun. Focus points will be strumming and rhythms, reading tabs, improvising, and beginning songwriting. We will have fun singing familiar songs and learning basic chords. Please bring a ukulele to class.

A Matter of Balance
A Matter of Balance (MOB) emphasizes practical strategies to reduce fear of falling and increase activity levels. Participants learn to view falls and fear of falling as controllable, set realistic goals to increase activity, change their environment to reduce fall risk factors, and exercise to increase strength and balance. Program provided by the Boulder County Area Agency on Aging.

No Cost Shoes
Pro Comfort will talk about no-cost shoes covered by Medicare/Medicaid. If you’re interested, there is a presentation about the program, and then stay for a complimentary 3D foot scan and get an order started.

Get Hip, Don't Slip!
"Get Hip, Don't Slip!" is a quick falls prevention education session provided by Vitality Rehabilitation. The risk of falling increases significantly during the winter/spring months. This event will focus on balance, strength, flexibility, endurance, and cognition and provide information and tips to increase general safety and fall awareness.

Medical Foot Care
Medical Foot Care is provided by the Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) and is offered on the third Wednesday of every month. Services include toenail trimming, callus filing, overall foot health check, and blood pressure checks. The VNA handles all scheduling and payments. Ortho Bionomy® Bodywork
Ortho-Bionomy® is a therapeutic technique that relieves pain by helping the body rediscover its natural balance. Tai Chi 1
Tai Chi is a series of easy and gentle exercise movements performed in a slow, focused manner accompanied by deep breathing. Tai Chi develops body awareness to increase balance, promote activity, and improve health and mobility, encouraging independence and fuller lives. Tai Chi is safe for all ages and fitness levels. Tai Chi Form
Tai Chi Form covers the first third of the form with a sort section of meditation and warm-up. This class is open to anyone, and any experience level is welcome; however, previous experience is recommended for the best experience. National Western Stock Show and Rodeo (Level 2)
Dust off your boots and head down to the National Western Stock Show. Our first event will be watching a Pro Rodeo in the Denver Coliseum. Bring money and wear comfortable walking shoes to enjoy the offerings of the numerous vendors throughout the coliseum after the rodeo. Please dress appropriately for the weather.

Breckenridge Snow Sculptures (Level 3)
Sit back and enjoy the ride to Breckenridge as we set off to see the Breckenridge International Snow Sculpture Championship. In this world-renowned competition, 16 teams from around the world descend on Breckenridge to hand-carve 20-ton blocks of snow into enormous, intricate works of art. Visiting this temporary outdoor art gallery will include lots of walking outside at high altitudes as you stroll around town enjoying the sculptures on your own. Please dress appropriately in shoes for snow, and bring water to stay hydrated at altitude with money for lunch. The fee includes transportation and parking

CCMOW offers the following programs to provide community members with daily, hot, nutritious meals and related support services:

The Meal Delivery Program mobilizes volunteers to deliver delicious made-from-scratch meals to clients Monday-Friday, plus two frozen meals for the weekend.

In partnership with the City of Lafayette Senior Services, Coal Creek Café (located at the Josephine Commons Housing Development) serves meals Monday-Friday from 11:30 to 12:30pm. This program creates opportunities for guests to socialize with friends and neighbors while enjoying our delicious daily offerings.

Plates for Pets clients receive a supply of pet food (for their cats, dogs, fish, birds, and rodents) along with their meal delivery on the last Monday of each month.

Project Homecoming clients receive five free home-delivered meals after returning from a hospital stay regardless of their age and income.

Smart911 is a service that allows you to create a free Safety Profile for your household to include any information you want first responders and 9-1-1 to have in the event of an emergency.
