Peter graduated Cum Laude from Saint Augustine High School in San Diego. He earned a varsity letter for both Lacrosse and as a student manager of the football team.
He's headed this fall to Oregon State University to study Mechanical Engineering and we're very proud of him!
| Giles will be attending UCSD next year, where he will also be playing division one volleyball. | Alison Jones started her school journey at St. Andrew's By The Sea preschool in 2010. From there Alison attended PB Elementary, PB middle, and MBHS. At MBHS Alison was involved in ASB, field hockey and soccer. Alison will be attending the University of Colorado Boulder in the Fall of 2026 studying Computer and Electrical Engineering. | Sydney Walters finished at MBHS with a 3.9 GPA with 4 years of IB Art and finished as an IB Diploma. 4 years w/Varsity Field Hockey, Captain her Senior year, 4 years Varsity Lacrosse, and finished with Club Ice Hockey AA w/San Diego Angeles as Captain her Senior year and National Ice Hockey HS Player with Fairmount Prep. Moving on to Framingham State University outside Boston, MA where she will double roster NCAA D3 Woman's Ice & Field Hockey while being in the Honors Program majoring in Criminology. | |
Kaelyn Walters graduated from MBHS with a 4.7 GPA, recognized as a top Engineering Student, seal of biliteracy in Spanish and with an IB Diploma.
4 years of Varsity Field Hockey as a Captain her senior year, 2 years Varsity Softball, and 2 years Varsity Lacrosse while also playing Club AA Ice Hockey with the SD Angeles and Club Field Hockey with Coastal Clash.
She will be attending Texas A&M Maritime Academy in Galveston in Marine Engineering Technology.

Applications Open: Johnson-Wong Scholarship
If you are preparing to enter a full-time college or university this fall, you are eligible to apply for the Johnson Wong Scholarship! This fund is generously provided by St. Andrew's members who are committed to the education of our young people. It is awarded to St. Andrew's members or children of members who plan to attend an accredited college full-time in the next school year. Fill out the application by August 30th.

Registration Open for our Parish Retreat: Sept. 25-27
We'll enjoy 2 nights in Bergstrom lodge, 5 delicious meals, outdoor morning prayer and time getting to connect with our church family. Optional activities include:
hiking, swimming, bonfire, and family craft time. Indoor accommodations: private rooms with private bathrooms; scratch-made delicious meals made by camp staff.
Camp Stevens is a place of beauty with over 250 acres of wild land for hiking, listening and being with God.
Only 8 rooms available this year! Sign up by June 25th to secure your spot. First come, first served. $300 per adult, $150 per child, 50% non-refundable deposit due upon registration. Transition Updates
- The Vestry has approved our Calling Committee slate: David Carlson, Anne Cass, Alex Wu, Cathleen Flowers, Hans Kullberg, and a youth representative: Sam Carlson.
- The Vestry approved the "charge" for the Calling Committee & our Calling Committee was commissioned at church.
- The calling committee co-chairs, David Carlson and Anne Cass, met with the Canon of the Ordinary from the Diocese to review the calling committee process.
- The Calling committee held two in person Listening Sessions to gather input from the congregation as well as collecting feedback via a web form.
- A detailed survey called the Congregation Assessment Tool (CAT) went out to parishioners. There were 64 responses. Our results showed we are a church with high energy, satisfaction, and adaptability.
- The calling committee is continuing the discernment process. The committee has also been in contact with the Diocese about the review process.

Supporting Hunger Suppers
Our weekly meal program is consistently serving over 100 people each week! The operational budget for the Hunger Supper ministry is in need of donations to support this increase of nearly double the numbers of guests we were used to seeing. We are also in need of volunteers to step up as team leads, who plan the meal, shop for the ingredients, and prepare it. Food Handler's certificates are required, and our Volunteer Coordinator, Auburn, is able to provide this training. If you would like to serve as a regular or substitute team lead, please contact Auburn at volunteer@standrewspb.org. Rebel Women Bible Study
Wednesday at 9:30 am in the Sanctuary
The Bible is full of women who bucked the status quo. Ruth, Naomi, Deborah, Jael - meet the real women of the Bible. No experience reading the Bible? No problem! We approach these stories with curiosity and encourage doubt, questioning, and wrestling with the text.
Discover that "biblical womanhood" is all about risk, strength, and justice for the marginalized.
Come connect with other women asking big questions and seeking support on their spiritual journey.

Support Saturday Meal Service
Every Saturday morning, Jodie and her team of volunteers set up their folding tables in front of St. Andrew's and feed anyone who is hungry. This past Saturday, they fed 80 people a hearty breakfast.
Jodie and her team from small potatoes foundation have been serving meals on Saturdays at St. Andrew's since June 2024. Their organization is dedicated to offering nourishing and wholesome meals to those facing hardships.
