On January 27, 2025, the world will observe International Holocaust Remembrance Day, commemorating the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz by the Soviet Union’s Red Army. This momentous occasion marks a pivotal chapter in human history and a solemn reminder of the atrocities of the Holocaust.

From the Vault: Greenberg Families Library's Holocaust-era Sefer Torah


Teigan Goldsmith, archivist at the Ottawa Jewish Archives shares the story of a Sefer Torah that has journeyed through pain and loss, but also demonstrates the resilience of the Jewish people coming out of the darkest days in human history. This Torah is on display at the front entrance of the Greenberg Families Library.

Ottawa Kosher Food Bank serves community as food insecurity increases
