Commencement is normally the biggest event in the life of a school. It is the culmination of years of hard work from students, parents, faculty, staff, coaches, and sponsors. We see it as a celebration of all the Lord has done in the lives of our graduates, and a commissioning of them as they walk into the next phases of their lives. This year, like so many before, we send off a group of young men and women who have been well prepared. Of course they have had incredible academic preparation as evidenced by high ACT scores, academic rally victories, and college scholarships. However, I trust they also have the knowledge of Jesus Christ in their minds and hearts. Further, I trust they have the beginnings of wisdom that will be developed and even passed along through the remainder of their lives.
Join us for this time of celebration on Saturday morning. Perhaps it can be an encouragement to younger students. Most importantly, let us ALL commit to pray for these fine young people as they take this important step. Pray they make wise choices in the future and follow a path that leads to a life of significance. Some of you may be in a position to encourage, mentor or support our graduates and I hope you do so. If you are one of the myriad of WCA alumni, welcome this group into your midst and encourage them along the journey. Lastly, continue to partner well with us as we prepare your students and others for lives of significance.
Congratulations to the class of 2018. May the Lord bless your journey and may you be ever mindful of the seeds of truth planted in your hearts and minds while at Westminster Christian Academy.
Go Saders!
