Mark your calendar for Commencement 2023

Commencement ceremonies to take place May 22-26

Cal State LA will celebrate thousands of graduating students in the Class of 2023 on campus at Commencement from May 22-26. The 10 college-based ceremonies will once again be held in Commencement Pavilion, a formal event space that will be constructed on the north side of campus in Lot 5. Commencement will highlight the aspects of the ceremony that our students treasure most. Their names will be called, they will get to cross the stage while their loved ones watch in person and on the livestream, and graduate students will be hooded. The detailed schedule is posted on the Commencement website.

Upgraded EV charging stations on campus

To advance clean transportation and to help support the growing demand for electric vehicles, Cal State LA has recently partnered with Electric Vehicle Charging Solutions (EVCS) to upgrade its Level 3 fast chargers to Level 3 direct-current (DC) fast chargers on campus. An electric vehicle can recover up to 100% of its range in less than one hour when charged at a DC fast charging station. A highlight of the new Level 3 stations is the capability of charging a Tesla without the use of an adapter; some of the stations are also equipped with a CCS and CHAdeMO option connector for charging. The price to charge at an EVCS fast charging station is $0.49 per kilowatt hour while Level 2 chargers will remain complimentary to charge for a maximum of 4 hours. Valid parking permits are required at both Level 2 and 3 stations. For more information, go to the Commuter Services website.
