  • Document any creative decorations your student added to their mortarboard.

Special Instructions for Photography on Gibson Hall Lawn
A quintessential experience for graduating Tulane seniors is taking photos in front of the Tulane University sign on the Gibson Hall lawn. While there is fencing along the Gibson Hall lawn due to safety precautions, students can take their photos in the area. We ask that students follow the procedures outlined below:
  • Students should approach the Tilton Memorial Hall barricade and advise the TUPD officer stationed on duty that they would like to take photos.
  • Only small groups allowed.
  • Only one group at a time will be allowed to pass the barricade.
  • No encampment materials will be allowed to cross the barricade.
  • TUPD officers on Gibson lawn will monitor groups taking photos and ensure they exit through the Tilton Memorial barricade.
(These instructions are also included on Commencement Know Before You Go | Tulane Commencement.)

Class of 2024 Poster from the Tulane University Alumni Association
2024 poster by K. Donley
Since 2016, the Tulane Alumni Association has specially commissioned an art poster designed by a local New Orleans artist for their class. The posters can be purchased for graduating students, so they always have a reminder of Tulane and New Orleans to take with them wherever they go.

This year’s poster was designed by Kloe Donley, and we’re pleased to be able to offer it for sale to the entire Tulane community in a full-size print (32”x21”).
Donley is a native New Orleanian who is passionate about being able to pursue her dream of being a full-time artist. Her artistic mission is to bring life to any space through vibrant paintings that showcase bold colors and intricate details.

You can purchase one of these unique mementos for your graduate while supplies last.
Starting this summer, posters will be shipped to the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. Requests for international orders will incur an additional cost.
Greening Nola Off-Campus Move-Out Service
Greening Nola is back with its volunteer-led program, offering pickups of household items, excluding furniture, for Tulane and Loyola students living off-campus in the university neighborhoods for donation between May 20-30. Greening Nola is a great resource to re-home used goods and reduce waste associated with off-campus move-out. Visit https://www.greeningnola.com/off-campus-move-out for details.
Tulane Clubs Help Graduates Maintain Ties and Build New Connections
main TU shield
Just as we offered advice and support for the high school to college transition, we'd like to offer a strategy to help your student get started in this next phase of life. Whether your graduate is returning to your hometown or moving to a new city after graduation, encourage them to get involved in a local Tulane Club. The clubs sponsor a variety of social, networking, and service activities

Many clubs have annual Mardi Gras parties and spring crawfish boils, so it's a fun way for alumni to carry on traditions they enjoyed while at Tulane. Club activities are organized by the members, offering young alumni opportunities for community leadership roles.

There are over 60 active clubs that span across the globe and each year over 15,000 Tulanians participate in alumni events. Your student can find a list of clubs on the Tulane Alumni Association website.

A Special Thank you to Tulane Families
I would like to offer my congratulations to all families of graduating students in the Tulane University Class of 2024. Your students started their Tulane journey under challenging circumstances with the COVID-19 pandemic and then navigated the obstacles presented by Hurricane Ida, making reaching this milestone even more impressive. I would also like to thank all of you parents and family members for the additional support you provided to help your students navigate living and learning through those challenges. Students' and parents’ patience, adaptability, and trust in us at Tulane inspired and encouraged us a great deal. Please be assured that your students and you will always be treasured members of our Tulane community.

If you have any feedback to help Family Programs serve other parents in the future, I invite you to answer this short survey.

It has been my pleasure and honor to partner with you in supporting your student's education and growth at Tulane. I wish your student much success and your whole family health and happiness in the future!

Warm regards,
Penny
