Thousands of Cal State LA students graduate during Commencement 2025

More than 5,500 Cal State LA students graduated during Commencement 2025, which took place at the historic Shrine Auditorium for the very first time. Graduating students had their names called out as they were recognized in front of their family and friends during the festivities. “As a graduate of Cal State LA, you are now and forever a part of this university’s legacy. We Are LA!” said President Berenecea Johnson Eanes. Read the president’s congratulatory letter online. While registration to walk with the group is now full, we still encourage everyone to come out and show support. Wear your Pride or Cal State LA gear, wave your signs and flags, and cheer along the parade route as we make our debut. The parade begins at 11 a.m. and the 1.04-mile route takes about 60–90 minutes.

Cal State LA builds community and sustainability on Earth Day

Over 78 students, faculty, and staff participated in this year’s event. The day featured a Building for Community service project in partnership with San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity, where 27 volunteers constructed 78 wall frames for future homes in the local area. In addition, 51 attendees took part in guided Greenhouse Tours and joined the Small Space Gardening Demonstration, learning sustainable growing techniques for urban living.
