| Sacramento City Council Committee Approves Quick Build Program | |
Sacramento’s Budget and Audit Committee unanimously approved a new road safety program on February 25 that would rapidly design and construct low-cost infrastructure projects — a significant shift in a city with a high rate of traffic deaths.
SABA and other local groups have been advocating for this program, which would allocate six engineers to a "Tactical Action Group," so that fixes to unsafe locations can be designed and built within a year. Currently, road safety projects often stall for years or decades.
