mclaneMcLane Foodservice 250,000-square-foot Facility Under Construction Near Tower Road and E. 81st Avenue

McLane Foodservice is building a new 250,000-square-foot refrigerated distribution facility in the Nexus at DIA Business Park. McLane Foodservice is one of the leading wholesale suppliers to grocery retailers and restaurants and operates 18 regional distribution centers in 16 states with a fleet of 1,900+ truck tractors and trailers. The new Commerce City facility will primarily serve McLane's chain restaurant customers in the region and employ 240 people during the first four years of operation. The project brings over $30 million in new capital investment to the city.
taxesCity's Annual Sales Tax Seminar Provides Valuable Information to Businesses

Business and residential municipal taxes support community services and programs. Commerce City wants businesses to be compliant and aware on how taxes are
 implemented and reported. To help educate the business community, Commerce City's Finance Department is holding its annual sales and use tax seminar Friday, December 16, at the Commerce City Civic Center (7887 E. 60th Avenue). Registration is at 9:15 a.m. with the seminar and Q&A beginning at 9:30 a.m. The seminar covers a number of areas including: When to charge sales tax and what's taxable, implications of special charges and fees associated with sales tax, and how to document sales tax and tax-exempt transactions.

City tax representatives will be on-hand to answer questions and provide direction to help businesses understand city tax reporting requirements and file tax returns. To register for the seminar, email jjosifek@c3gov.com or call 303-289-3628 by December 12.

The Commerce City Business Appreciation Awards Breakfast is scheduled for March 2, 2017. The breakfast will be held at the Yellow Rose Event Center from 7:30-9 a.m., with networking and registration from 7-7:30 a.m. The awards event recognizes businesses, individuals and organizations that have made contributions to the economic vitality of the city. The Commerce City Business & Professional Association is a partner for the event.

Stryker by Design is a woman-owned, veteran-owned manufacturing company who has been in business since 2000 and located in Commerce City since 2008. They specialize in "soft-sewn" products, like backpacks, tarps, and pet accessories - custom-ordered products sewn by highly-trained operators that ensure that all products are constructed in compliance with all applicable drawings, specifications and requirements.

Stryker by Design works with community groups to find talented sewing machine operators, including immigrants from Africa and the Middle East who are refugees in the United States from war-torn countries. Stryker by Design donates to causes and organizations ranging from military veteran assistance to animal rescue groups.

New Restaurant Opening in 2017


The city is always excited when a new restaurant moves into Commerce City. Royal Nepal Restaurant is coming to North
 Range Town Center at 15550 E. 103rd Place, #112. The restaurant will serve Indian, Nepali, and Tibetan cuisine. These cuisines
 use spices like turmeric, cumin, and coriander in flavorful dishes of lamb, chicken, and fish. Welcome Royal Nepal Restaurant!


New Dog Biscuit Bakery opening in 2017

Pet lovers will have a new place to shop in Commerce City! Cosmo's Dog Biscuit Bakery is coming to Turnberry
 Marketplace in 2017. Cosmo's specializes in wholesome and healthy treats for dogs. It also offers a large selection of pet
products including food, toys, collars and leashes, beds, and accessories. Named after Cosmo the cat, Cosmo's was founded in 1995 has expanded throughout the Denver Metropolitan Area. The bakery also supports local causes, including shelters and animal hospitals across the Front Range. Welcome, Cosmo's!
