sutrakSutrak Announces Another Commerce City Expansion

Sutrak, a leading manufacturer of HVAC systems for bus, light rail, and automated people movers in North America, plans to build two new warehouse buildings on land adjacent to its current facility at 6897 E. 49th Avenue. The 20,500- and 24,500-square-foot warehouse buildings will store component parts used in the assembly process as well as finished products prior to shipping. Sutrak has operated in Colorado since 1980.  The company moved the majority of its operations to Commerce City in 2004 with the completion of an 18,000-square-footwarehouse facility.  The expansion adds two employees to the company's existing 29.

It's that time of year again! You are invited to the Commerce City Business After Hours & Resource Event hosted by the Economic Development Division, Bison Grill at Buffalo Run Golf Course, and United Power. This event is in partnership with the Commerce City Business Alliance, Commerce City Business & Professional Association, Metro North Chamber, and the Commerce City Chamber. The event will be on Wednesday, February 8, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Bison Grill at Buffalo Run Golf Course at 15700 E 112th Avenue. Come enjoy some food and drink and network with other local businesses at this unique event.

boardsOpportunities Available on City's Boards and Commissions

If you are looking for an opportunity to get involved on a board or commission now is your chance. There are several openings, including two on the Planning Commission. If you are interested in land use planning, architecture and facilitating good development standards, you might be an ideal candidate to serve on the Planning Commission. The Commerce City Planning Commission is a decision making body appointed by City Council to gather citizen input and make recommendations to the council on development related cases and policies. Openings are also available on the Cultural Council, Capital Improvement Projects Citizen Advisory Committee, Derby Review Board, and Quality Community Foundation. These boards and commissions offer unique opportunities for residents to step up and be part of making important city decisions. Learn more and apply online. Deadline is January 20.

Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen Opens New Location
