Committee members meet approximately once a month from February to June leading up to the fair to brainstorm how to showcase Commerce's booth at the Ohio State Fair. Last year, we elevated our Commerce House concept to showcase all the ways our divisions at Commerce touch Ohioans' daily lives and "Promote Prosperity by Protecting What Matters Most."

A Local Option Election Presentation

Have you ever seen a question on the ballot related to the sale of alcohol? That's part of the local option election process, which involves county boards of elections. The Division of Liquor Control Director of Licensing and Interim Superintendent Paul Kulwinski gave a presentation to the local county Board of Election Directors about the local option election and how it impacts the Division's operations.

Wearing Blue for Human Trafficking Awareness Day

On January 11, members of the Division of Real Estate and Professional Licensing wore blue in recognition of Human Trafficking Awareness Day. Thank you to everyone who took part in #WearBlueDay, which was established by the Department of Homeland Security to raise awareness of the often-invisible crime.

Fun Committee Hosts Bingo Honoring Martin Luther King Jr.

Mark your calendars! The DFI Fun Committee will be hosting a bingo game workshop on Teams in recognition of Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Thursday, Jan. 18 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Join DFI for a couple of rounds of bingo where you will have the chance to learn more about Dr. King's contributions to the Civil Right Movement and his significance in American history and culture.
