Upcoming Operation Green Light

The Commission for Veterans and Military Families (CVMF) encourages citizens to participate in Operation Green Light for Veterans the week before Veterans Day, Nov. 4-11, 2025.

The National Association of Counties encourages our nation to “shine a light of hope and support for veterans.”

When we light our buildings and homes green, county governments and residents will let veterans know they are appreciated and supported.

The CVMF encourages all county residents to participate. Here’s how:

  1. Light up green: Replace one or more of your exterior lights with a green bulb.
  2. Share the message: Encourage friends and neighbors to participate.
  3. Spread awareness: Post photos of your green light to support veterans on social media.

For more information on Operation Green Light, visit the NACO website or contact the Calvert County Commission for Veterans and Military Families at veterans@calvertcountymd.gov.
