Commissioner Quarles, Kentucky cattle producers celebrate Beef Month

"I try to be an advocate for the beef industry," said central Kentucky veterianarian Dr. Ryan Wonderlich.

While Daimion Collins' basketball dreams have him away from the farm, he continues to relish memories of his rural upbringing.

"Raising Hope brings awareness and resources to treat the whole of a person," Commissioner Quarles said.

Kentucky farm fact

With nearly a million head of beef cattle, Kentucky is one of the top 10 states in the nation for beef inventory and the largest beef cattle producer east of the Mississippi River. Last year, Kentucky produced approximately 697 million pounds of beef valued at more than $806 million.
