"Need More Acres Farm is committed to ensuring that their farm to school efforts carry long-term benefits and habit changes for students," the USDA wrote.
Each acre of harvested Kentucky woodland contributes more than $23,000 to the state's economy, with primary and secondary forest industries in 112 of the commonwealth's 120 counties.
