"Pork plays an important role in our state," said Commissioner of Agriculture Dr. Ryan Quarles, above with Kentucky Pork Producers Executive Director Niki Ellis. "Our farmers play an equally important role in the hard work they do to raise healthy lean meat for consumers in our state and beyond."
Each acre of harvested Kentucky woodland contributes more than $23,000 to the state's economy, with primary and secondary forest industries in 112 of the commonwealth's 120 counties.
