Weekly Updates · May 24, 2023

Brothers & Sisters,

This past Sunday, May 21st, 2023, was a historic day for Church at Ross Bridge. In our 120th year of existence as a church, we took a significant step forward toward establishing a permanent home in the Hoover/Birmingham community. We celebrated 15 confirmands professing their faith, and made commitments toward God’s BEYOND initiative for greater ministry impact, including the building of a new sanctuary.

We believe Commitment Sunday forever changed the course and impact of our church, within and beyond our walls, for current and future generations. Our church & community will never be the same!

Our primary goal is 100% participation for everyone who considers our church to be their spiritual home. For those who have note yet made a commitment and want to be a part of God's BEYOND vision, click this image to make your commitment online!

We are grateful for every expression of generosity and support for God's BEYOND initiative. Our church office is carefully confirming each commitment and looks forward to sharing our financial starting point for BEYOND in a Celebration Announcement on Sunday, June 4th. This amount will be a starting point, because as our church grows in the days ahead, each new household will begin supporting BEYOND as God leads them to.

For all that has been and all that will be - we give thanks. God is good!

“Glory to God, who is able to do far beyond all that we could ask or imagine by his power at work within us; glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus for all generations, forever and always. Amen.”

‭‭- Ephesians‬ ‭3‬:‭20‬-‭21‬

Bridge Students Updates

Dear Church,

This weekend was a blast for Bridge Students. We had some of our students participate in the Rise Against Hunger event where we as a church were able to pack meals that will feed 20,000 people!! Later that day, our students went and watched Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

On Sunday we had two students report that our ministry (and help from a generous donor) was able to commit $15,072.50!!!! Awesome job Baker Baswell and Grace Mitchell. Keep your eyes peeled, our students are just getting started!!!

Lastly, over 40 of our students ended the weekend with a rocking pool party! We got together and ate pizza, played spike ball, and even pool basketball! I hope all of our new confirmands felt welcomed and a part of the Student family!

Until next time,

Your Friendly Neighborhood Student Minister

Ministry Engagement @ CARB

Get Familiar & Get Involved Here @ CARB!!

This past Saturday, we had over 70 adults and 20 youth here at the church who packed 20,000 meals in 2.5 hours! That's 8,000 meals per hour, or 111 meals per minute! We used roughly 1,600 lbs of rice, 1,600 lbs of soy and various dehydrated vegetables, and 3,300 vitamin packs! This Rise Against Hunger ministry event was SO much fun & suitable for ALL ages! We will definitely do this project again! Imagine HOW MANY meals we could provide for our brothers and sisters around the globe who are experiencing food insecurity when we are able to coordinate a Rise Against Hunger event from our new, spacious ministry center across the Parkway!

If you are interested in learning more about: getting more involved in the many ministries happening here at CARB, or what membership at our Church looks like, please be our guest for our next #ALLINTERESTED Luncheon directly following the 10:30a Worship Service on June 4th.
