Parks and Recreation Department Seeks Public Input
One of the first steps in the Burlingame Community Center development project will be to relocate the existing playground in Washington Park. The goal is to have the new playground in place before breaking ground on the new Community Center in early 2020. For more information about the new Burlingame Community Center, click here .

The Parks & Recreation Department is forming the Washington Park Playground Committee to help develop the new playground plan, which will include equipment options for the Park. The Department will select three community members to be part of the Committee.

Committee members will be asked to attend several evening meetings, and a final presentation at a Parks & Recreation Commission meeting. The process is expected to take several months. Please note, Committee membership is for adults only; no children will be included in the meetings. If you would like to be considered as a neighborhood representative for the Committee, click here to fill out an application . The first meeting will be in early October.

If you have don’t have time for the Committee, but would like to offer your opinions about the elements in the Park, please click on this link .

The survey will be available until Friday, September 14, 2018. We thank you in advance for your assistance and participation! If you have any questions about this project, please call Karen Hager, Management Analyst, at 650-558-7317, or email .
Washington Park Restroom Closure
The Parks and Recreation Department is replacing the restrooms at Washington Park! The new building should be ready for use by Friday, September 21.

In the meantime, portable toilets will be available for use, or park patrons may use the restrooms inside the Recreation Center. Your patience is appreciated. Call the Burlingame Parks and Recreation Department at 650-558-7330 with any questions.
Household Battery and Cell Phone Collection Program

For safety, please tape over both ends of each lithium battery, and wrap cell phones in paper. Multi-family residents can place batteries in their orange battery and cell phone collection bucket. If you don’t see one in a central location, contact your building's property manager to request a free bucket from Recology San Mateo County. Learn more at
