CHAIR'S ADDRESS
Greetings!

COVID presented the Committee of 100 with a unique challenge of how to get together and continue the work we are doing for Burman University. Due to the restrictions that were in place at the time, we were unable to have our yearly meeting during Alumni Homecoming weekend. We always look forward to seeing those that are able to attend and it was a disappointment that we were unable to do that this year. We also know that many of our members have faced financial and job uncertainty this year. Our thoughts and prayers go out continually to those that are still struggling at this time. 

Despite the challenges, positive changes have still been happening on the Hilltop. The recent renovations that have been completed have had a subtle but major impact around the campus. To have a campus that is accessible and accommodating for everyone that uses it is an important goal that our university is working towards. The renovations in Lakeview Hall (LVH) not only add increased function but also updated residence rooms so our students’ experience on campus is even better.

I want to encourage everyone to stay strong. God is continually watching over us and will continue to bless us as we continue to do His work for His school.

2020 ANNUAL MEETING:
MONDAY, NOVEMBER 30, 6PM MST
The 2020 annual meeting will take place over Zoom. Below you will find a link to a Zoom tutorial if you are unfamiliar with the video calling service, as well as the link for the meeting. A reminder email will be sent to you 2 hours before the meeting.

One of the items on the agenda for this meeting will be voting between two exciting proposals for our 2020 project. Please call Shannon at (403) 550-3608 if you have difficulties setting up Zoom or connecting to the meeting.
PROJECT UPDATES
Our most recent completed projects are part of the campus accessibility initiative. Two dormitory rooms in Lakeview Hall are now fully renovated to allow for wheelchair accessibility.

A new Garaventa Super Trac stairclimber has also been purchased to ensure that LVH residents can easily get up and down the basement stairs to the chapel, kitchen, and laundry rooms.

The entrances to the Cafeteria and McKibbin Education Centre have also been upgraded with barrier-free doorways. In addition, the men's washroom in the McKibbin Centre is now wheelchair accessible.
PRESIDENT'S ADDRESS
Dear Committee of 100 Members, I want to thank each of you that hold Burman University and our students in your hearts. Your continued support through the Committee of 100 is greatly appreciated as the entire campus community continues to enjoy the projects successfully completed in previous years. The campus has benefited from accessibility projects, beautification and paving projects, along with others. During the last couple of years, the attention of the campus and beyond has been on the Shaping the World fund-raising campaign with a focus on the building of a new library, enhancing student success, as well as program and faculty development. We are pleased to announce that over half of the $10 million goal for the entire campaign has been pledged or raised. At the upcoming virtual annual meeting, the Committee of 100 will vote between two options for projects this year: a larger project of support for the library or a smaller project that the campus is in need of as well. Your thoughts and vote will help guide the direction for the next year. Once again, I want to express my appreciation for the difference you have made on the Burman University campus and in the lives of students. May God continue to bless each of you.

The Executive Committee position of Treasurer is currently vacant. If you would be willing to let your name stand as a nominee for the position of Treasurer, please advise by emailing us at committeeof100@burmanu.ca before November 30, 2020, and we will present the nominee(s) at the meeting.
LET'S HELP BURMAN GROW!
Now is a good time to renew membership in the Committee of 100, and to help find new members. Thank you to everyone who has already renewed membership for 2020. If you have been a member in past years and have not yet renewed, please consider doing so by visiting our website below. If you know of people who might be interested in supporting Burman University through the Committee of 100, please share their names with the Office of Advancement and we will contact them.
