Dear Friends and Neighbors,
Join us tomorrow, Wednesday, June 27th at 1PM for the Council Committee on Transportation's off-site hearing on the L train shutdown at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.
While necessary for the repair of the Canarsie Tunnel, the shutdown is bound to impact the commute of 400,000 riders every day. The repairs must be completed in a timely manner and riders must be reassured that the agencies will be responsive.
We are looking forward to the full mitigation plan put together by the Department of Transportation and the MTA. New Yorkers deserve a thoughtful, robust alternate service plan during the shutdown of the L train that will take into account their different travel needs, offer similar routes with buses, encourage new transportation options relying on bikes, and provide predictable service.

Únase a nosotros mañana, miércoles 27 de junio a la 1PM para la audiencia del Comité de Transporte del Consejo Municipal sobre el cierre del tren L en la escuela de derechos Benjamin N. Cardozo.
Mientras que es necesario para la reparación del Túnel Canarsie, el cierre impactará el transporte diario de 400,000 pasajeros. Las reparaciones se deben completar de manera punctual y los usuarios deben de sentirse seguros de que las agencias responderán a sus inquietudes.
Estamos esperando aprender más sobre el plan de mitigación completo elaborado por el Departamento de Transporte y la MTA. Los neoyorquinos merecen un plan de servicio alternativo concreto y adecuado durante el cierre del tren L que tomará en cuenta sus diferentes necesidades de transporte, ofrecerá rutas similares con los autobuses, alentará nuevas opciones de transporte basadas en bicicletas y proporcionará un servicio predecible.
