Volunteer Updates & Opportunities

Artist: Becky Barnicoat

Well folks, we have officially entered the 'ber' months, although it might be a while yet before we feel the 'brr.'

September may represent the beginning of the end of the calendar year, but at Common Flame, it's just the beginning! There are so many new & exciting opportunities coming up this church year. We're really jazzed to begin our first full year as Common Flame, and we're so happy that y'all are here to help shape & grow our community, with love at the center.

Remember that we return to TWO SERVICES on SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 13! That is not this coming Sunday, but the one after. As such, our volunteer sign ups got a little re-vamp for the new church year. Below, you'll see sign ups for this Sunday (in pink) and sign ups for Sunday, September 13th and onward (in purplish blue).

Our ask this week is to help fill our Welcome Team & Abundant Harvest sign up slots as far as we can into this Fall! Returning to two services means we need more volunteers on Sundays to help ensure everything is getting done. Signing up in advance helps staff & organizers plan better & avoid the last-minute Sunday-Scramble each week. As always, volunteers, we are grateful for you, we're amazed by you, and we couldn't do it without you!

Sign Up to Greeter, Usher & Host!

Every Sunday

Greeters: This is a great way to show your Common Flame pride! Greet folks & answer questions as they come in.

Ushers: Open/close sanctuary doors, pass offertory baskets, count money & people. Read about Jess Hendrickson's experience as an usher here!

Use the second button below to sign up for dates later on this fall!

Volunteer at the Abundant Harvest Table!

Every Sunday

Harvest Table is powered by a small group of dedicated folks, many in their 70s, who do a lot to keep it going. If you’re able, signing up is a simple way to share the load and support the people who support all of us.

2026 Holiday Market Helpers

December 4-5 & earlier this Fall (exact dates & times TBD)

The countdown to the Holiday Market has officially begun! We're looking for a few merry and creative folx to join our planning team. If you enjoy event planning, thinking outside the box, working with others, and making joyful things happen, we'd love to have you on board. We also ask that you're available to help during the Holiday Market itself, on December 4 & 5. If you're interested or want more information, please let Emily know!
