Attend Leadership Training

It's time for Common Flame's 2nd Annual Lay Leader Training! Join us for a day of connection, fresh ideas, and practical tools to help our ministries thrive. Committee chairs, team leaders, and group facilitators are encouraged to attend or send a representative. This year, the event is open to everyone interested in leadership at Common Flame. Breakfast, lunch, and a healthy amount of candy provided. (Sorry, no childcare!)

Ice Cream Fanatics! Volunteer for Sundae Sunday

Sunday, August 2 | 11:30 AM

During the height of summer, join us on the patio after church for an Ice Cream Party! All are welcome and encouraged to enjoy a sweet treat while connecting with others. Help us make this a multi-generational event that is enjoyed by all! Volunteers are needed to make the magic happen by serving and purchasing ice cream (you'll be reimbursed), setting up and cleaning up, and bringing toppings. Please sign up here to volunteer!

Donate Personal Care Items to Community Table!

Sundays, August 2 - August 23 (after services)

The Women's Group will be collecting personal hygiene items for Community Table, an Arvada nonprofit serving families in need. Needs: tampons, pads, bar soap, body wash, razors, laundry soap, deodorant, lotion, sunscreen, and bandaids. Sample or hotel sizes are useful. Gather your items now to donate this August!

Give Blood to Red Cross: Every Drop Counts!

Friday, August 21 | 1 - 6 pm

It's time for another Blood Drive at Common Flame! Reserve your time slot to donate blood with Red Cross, and help keep the supply afloat. Click the button below, enter code 'JUC' to reserve a time slot. Bring a photo ID, your blood donor card, or two other forms of ID.

Greeters: Welcome everyone at the front doors, answer questions, and let visitors know what to expect.

Ushers: Open/close sanctuary doors, pass offertory baskets, count money & people. Read about Jess Hendrickson's experience as an usher here!

Remember, you can sign up weeks in advance if you would like. You'll get a reminder email a couple of days before your volunteer days!

Harvest Table is powered by a small group of dedicated folks, many in their 70s, who do a lot to keep it going. Equity reminds us that the work shouldn’t fall on the same shoulders every week. If you’re able, signing up is a simple way to share the load and support the people who support all of us.

Hello wonderful people of Common Flame! Ray here, popping in to let you all know that I have been freshly gifted the responsibility of this volunteer newsletter. Woot woot! Two things I need your help with:

1. Send me all your volunteer-related news & requests! What volunteer needs do you see in our congregation? Are you hosting an event, and need folks to help you set up, clean up, or bring snacks? Let me know by sending an email to ray@commonflameuu.org.
2. Calling photographers & videographers of any skill level (if you have a phone, this could be you)! If you take photos or videos at any Common Flame event or gathering, I'd love to see them and share them on our website, or on social media. You can share photos & videos using this Google form.
