Youth Book Club

Wednesday, June 10 | 6:30 - 8 pm | Are you curious about a kid-led book club? If you love reading, want to read more, or share your favorite book with others, please join us for an evening of all of the above! This group will be led by our kids and monitored by our trusted adults. A pizza party will be offered at the end of our summer session.

2026 GA Delegates: Application Open!

June 14-21, 2026 | Common Flame is a member congregation of the Unitarian Universalist Association & eligible to assign up to 13 delegates to the annual national assembly, June 14-21, 2026. The assembly will be held online. Any member in good standing is eligible to serve as a delegate.

Muffins with the Ministry Team

Thursday, June 4 | 10 am - 12 pm | Common Flame members 70 or better are invited by the ministry team for connection, and conversation. We’ll spend time getting to know each other, discussing the monthly theme, and breaking into small groups for deeper conversations. Bring muffins to share!

Colorado Trail Picnic Lunch & Trail Maintenance

Saturday, June 6 | 7:30 am | $20 | Help take care of our beautiful CO mountain trails and have fun doing it! We'll do maintenance on the Colorado Trail at Kenosha Pass and have a gourmet picnic lunch. All ages & abilities welcome.

Saturday, June 6 | 5 pm | $25 | Dream of being a singer? Or do you need an outlet to perform? Come join the Cross Crooners for an adults-only event to sing your heart out! Drinks and heavy appetizers will be provided.

Best Picture Series: Million Dollar Baby

Saturday, June 27 | 6 pm | $25 | Wear your gym attire for a healthy boxer's dinner, followed by a viewing of the 2005 Best Picture winner Million Dollar Baby. It'll knock you out!

Saturday, June 6 | 10 am - 12 pm | Join our housing justice teams AND our immigration support team to celebrate the victories of the past three months, discuss the intersection of housing and immigration justice, and learn what's coming up!

Allies in Action II

Sunday, June 14 | 11:30 am - 1:30 pm | We'll present a range of opportunities to engage in action: direct outreach, policy change & neighborhood groups to set up lines of communication to better respond to emergencies. We'll use our map to connect neighbors and build on the groups that are already forming (map will be available on Sundays in the commons).

Monday, June 1 | 6 - 8 pm | Our June Meeting topic will be Spiritual & Physical Decluttering facilitated by Beth Gregg. We can bring clothing & treasures from home to trade for a new loved home, then donate leftovers to a cause we choose.

Men's Group

Thursday, June 4 | 5:30 - 8 pm | Tanglewood Park | We're a community of people who identify as men connecting authentically. Meetings consist of social time, a meal, and a program based on listening and reflection. 

Poetry Group

Friday, June 5 | 1 - 2:30 pm | We gather twice a month to share poetry. Feedback is gently given. No need to contact leader, just show up and see if this is right for you. We write & share poems following a prompt given at the previous meeting. Most poems are free verse.

Queer Connections

Monday, June 8 | 7 - 8:30 pm | Do you identify as LGBTQIA+? Connect with the Common Flame Queer Adult community & bring snacks to share. This is an informal social meetup to make connections as queer folks. We'll talk about how the community moves forward and what activities sound appealing to all.

Braver Conversations

Sunday, June 14 | 11:30 am - 1 pm | Through practicing Nonviolent Communication together, we will nurture heart-to-heart connection, speaking your truth with compassion & fostering belonging across differences.

Mom's Group

Tuesday, June 16 | 6:30 - 8:30 pm | Join other JUC moms for an opportunity to deepen and connect. There will be a mix of faith-exploration activities and socialization time.

Hide-N-Seek Extravaganza

Friday, June 5 | 5:30 - 8 pm | Youth 10+ are invited to take over Common Flame with a hide-and-seek extravaganza! Take over the church grounds and play epic games like the OG, Sardines, Kick the Can, Water Pistols, and more! Pizza provided- sign up early so we know how much food to order!

Monday, June 22 | 1 - 3 pm | Harkins Theater Arvada | We’re gathering at Harkins Theater in Arvada for a showing of Toy Story 5! Don’t forget your popcorn money! Suggested donation is $10.

Summer MUUsic & Arts Camp

August 10 - 14 | 9 am - 3 pm | Our annual Children’s Music Service & Summer Camp have joined forces! Children & youth will present our Children’s Music Service on August 16 after a week of learning & rehearsing our program. Singing, acting & dancing optional. We'll have plenty of opportunities for everyone!
