Sunday, August 23 | 11 am - 3 pm | Maple Grove Park | Our annual picnic is back & bigger than ever! Celebrate our new name with Common Flame congregants & our larger community. We'll have food trucks, live music, a bounce house, Common Flame merch, (of course) a watermelon eating contest, and more.

28th Annual Small Unitarian Beerfest

Saturday, August 1 | 2 pm | $25 | Art & Sara's backyard | Enjoy Art's famous homebrews & some munchies. Bring 3 craft beers to share. Beers will be categorized, including N/A and gluten-free brews. Designated drivers: No need to buy a ticket; 5 dollars at the door will cover food.

Four Hands Piano Recital

Sunday, August 2 | 4 pm | $20 | They're back! Master pianists, Adam Revell and Jude Markel, will dazzle us again this year with amazing solos and duets! Join them in our sanctuary for an afternoon of exceptional music-making! Children are free when accompanied by an adult. Tickets may be purchased at the door.

School Board Advocacy Watch Event

Thursday, July 23 | 6 - 9 pm | Our Queer Social Justice Group, along with Engage JeffCo, is hosting a streaming of a conversation with PFLAG National. This training will explore effective strategies for school board advocacy. Take meaningful action & strengthen your impact at the local level!

Queer Social Justice Group

Monday, July 27 | 6:30 - 8 pm | We're a group of queer people & allies committed to raising awareness of issues that affect the queer community. We will be turning that awareness and education into action, including but not limited to, helping our unhoused find refuge and helping our queer youth find safety and community.

Community Table Personal Care Item Collection

Sundays, August 2 - August 23 | The Women's Group will be collecting personal hygiene items for Community Table, an Arvada nonprofit serving families in need. Needs: tampons, pads, bar soap, body wash, razors, laundry soap, deodorant, lotion, sunscreen, and bandaids. Sample or hotel sizes are useful. Gather your items now to donate this August!

Red Cross Blood Drive

Braver Conversations

Water Balloon Games

Mario Kart Tournament

Friday, July 31 | 6:30 - 8:30 pm | We'll set up our first rounds in the chapel over several TVs & devices. Final round played in the sanctuary with an audience! Come to support your friends or play for the championship title! Please bring your own controller & switch if you have them!

Summer MUUsic & Arts Camp

August 10 - 14 | 9 am - 3 pm | Our kids & youth will spend a week learning & rehearsing our program before Children's Music Service on August 16. Singing, acting & dancing optional. We'll have plenty of opportunities for everyone!

Q is for Questioning: Supporting the Caregivers of LGBTQ+ Youth

Sunday, July 12 | 10 am - 12:30 pm | Prodigy Coffeehouse (3801 E. 40th Avenue) | This workshop is designed to help trusted adults create more affirming environments for & relationships with LGBTQ+ youth. Workshops are facilitated by a licensed mental health professional and peer with LGBTQ+ lived experience.

Paint Recycling Roundup

Saturday, July 18 | 9 am - 1 pm | Arvada Covenant Church (5555 Ward Road) | Get rid of your old, unwanted paint, clean up your garage and basement and keep paint products out of the landfill. Recycling is free; voluntary cash contributions will directly fund scholarships for women through the Denver Area Cottey Club Endowed Scholarship Fund.
