Imbibe Urbana's First Friday: August 4th, 5:30-7:30pm

Did you know that Urbana is bustling every evening on the First Friday of every month?

Many local Urbana businesses put together sales, samples, and special gatherings for the Imbibe Urbana First Friday's events, such as the Makers on Main Local Artisan Market this Friday from 5:30-8pm. Stop by the Co-op for some delicious samples and foods for the weekend.

We'll be sampling our Co-op recipe for Peach Sangria, our regional Mileur Peaches, our Co-op made Peacho de Gallo (Pico de gallo with peaches), and more this Friday from 5:30-7:30pm!

July's Round Up For Good:
Black Lives Matter-CU

Last month we raised over $5,200 for Black Lives Matter-CU, our local chapter in Champaign-Urbana!

A special thank you to all who helped us reach this total!

Follow BLMCU on Facebook and contact BLM if you would like to volunteer!
August Round Up For Good:
Planned Parenthood's Champaign  Health Center

During all of August, you have the chance to donate to Planned Parenthood's Champaign Health Center through our Round Up For Good Program.

This PP location provides access to affordable health care including birth control counseling, pregnancy and birth services, STI testing & treatment, information on health care providers & government assistance, annual checkups, and more.

Bring your own bag in and we'll donate 10 cents towards  Round Up For Good!

Why Planned Parenthood? Each year our owners nominate and vote for local organizations during September to receive donations for the following year. Starting this September 1st-13th, active owners (who have paid their full equity within 1 year) will be able to nominate up to 3 local organizations explaining how the nominated organizations fit at least two of our Co-op Ends. Nominations that include small statements explaining how the organization meets our ends will make it onto our official Owner Election Ballot. Owner Elections will take place September 14-21st, ending at our Annual Meeting of Owners.

Have questions? Call Planned Parenthood today: (877) 200-7745

GM Search Committee Update from the Board

One of the most integral parts of board service is our committee work. Currently, the GM Search Committee is working hard on finding our next General Manager. After securing our external interim GM, Tim Sullivan - who begins work at Common Ground on  Monday, August 7  - we turned our full attention to the search for our next permanent GM. We are currently reviewing applications and scheduling phone interviews with our best candidates, based on a rubric we developed by surveying store management staff and the board for what qualifications and characteristics we need in our next GM.

If you have questions about the process, please stop by  Friday, August 11th  from
5-7pm during our monthly board tabling session, when Julie and Marissa, the other two members of this committee, will be at the co-op.
