Season's greetings from Dr. Russell
Dear District 58 Families,

On behalf of the Board of Education and the staff members of District 58, I would like to wish everyone Happy Holidays and well wishes as we head into the new year. I would also like to thank you for your continued support of our work on behalf of the students. District 58 is a special place and we have the very best students, staff and families. I am grateful for the spirit of giving that takes place every year around the holidays in our community. Thanks to the generosity of our families, staff and community members, all children in the District will be able to enjoy meals and gifts throughout the holiday season. I hope everyone enjoys the break with family and friends, and please do not hesitate to reach out to a member of our team if you have any questions or need assistance.

Best wishes,

Dr. Kevin Russell
Superintendent of Schools

Winter Weather Series Part 3: How does District 58 communicate emergency closure information?
When a decision is made to close school due to inclement weather, the District will send an automated voice and email message to all parents and staff via the SchoolMessenger notification system. The system will also send a text message to families and staff who have registered to receive texts. Sign up to receive District 58 text messages by texting YES to 68453 using a phone number that is on file with District 58. Opt out at any time by texting STOP to the same number.

District 58 also posts school closure information at www.dg58.org, on Facebook, Twitter and on the District’s answering machine at 630-719-5800. The District also notifies major news radio and network televisions stations.

Please visit www.dg58.org/family-resources/winter to learn more FAQs regarding winter weather in District 58. We will continue to highlight one FAQ in the next few issues of Communicate 58.
