Facility planning: District 58's next steps
District 58 invited several stakeholders to join a Facility Planning Citizen Task Force. Prospective task force members were recommended by the School Board, administrators, staff members, parents and the community at large. The task force will meet several times this winter and spring to help the School Board update and finalize its draft Master Facility Plan. This group will also make a recommendation to the Board as to whether District 58 should pursue a building bond (referendum) question on the November 2020 ballot.

When do students go outside in cold weather?
Grade K-8 District 58 students can go outside if the combined temperature and wind chill is 0 degrees or above, barring special circumstances, such as excessive ice. Please be sure to dress your child warmly! Students should remember to bring hats, gloves/mittens, scarves, coats, snow pants and boots. They may want to bring an extra fleece to wear, as well as an extra pair of socks in case theirs get wet. Please remember to label these items with your child's name!
Reminder: MAP and AIMSweb testing starts next month
District 58 will conduct its winter MAP testing  Dec. 2-20 and AIMSweb testing  Dec. 3-20. The MAP test evaluates students in grades K-8 on Math and Reading skills. AIMSweb tests students on reading fluency; when students master reading fluency, they exit from taking this assessment.
