District relaxes some school visitor guidelines
Throughout the pandemic, District 58 restricted school visitors to only those who were essential. We are pleased to share that some restrictions have been loosened.

• District 58 schools will be open to PTA-sponsored events, clubs and activities.
• Adult school visitors are not required to be vaccinated if they attend one event at school and follow all District 58 COVID-19 protocols.
• Adult school visitors who visit a District 58 school on an ongoing basis must be vaccinated or submit a weekly COVID test.
• Outside groups may rent space at District 58 schools outside of school hours, in a similar manner to before the pandemic. Any group that rents space must agree to follow the District's COVID-19 protocols.
Want a flexible job? Check out these District 58 jobs!
District 58 is hiring several full-time, part-time and substitute positions. Here are our most in-demand jobs!

Custodian: Have a full-time or part-time job and looking for something else with flexibility? Know any family members, friends or neighbors looking to pick up a few extra hours? District 58 is hiring for both full-time and part-time substitute custodian positions. The Buildings & Grounds Department can accommodate flexible schedules for their substitute custodial positions. Coverage is available during the day, evening and on Saturdays. The number of shifts you pick up is always confirmed by you. Applicants must be 16 years of age or older. The pay rate is $14.75 per hour. Full-time custodians receive benefits.

Registered nurse: District 58's registered nurse schedule is similar to a student schedule, making this position especially ideal for someone with kids in school! Registered nurses earn $30 per hour, plus benefits. There is an opening for a registered nurse at Indian Trail.

Substitute teachers and substitute instructional assistants: Serve as a substitute (teacher or instructional assistant) at District 58. It's the ultimate flexible job! Substitute teachers earn $140 per day, and substitute instructional assistants earn $80 per day. There are also half-day options. Learn more about substituting in District 58.

You can still sign your child up for weekly COVID testing
District 58's optional weekly COVID-19 screening program began last month. District 58 is thankful to provide this additional layer in mitigating the spread of COVID-19 in the community.

It's not too late to sign your child up for this program. The weekly test only takes a couple of minutes to administer from the convenience of your child’s school. Families can select from any or all of three types of testing services including:

• Weekly screening testing (routine testing)
• Symptomatic testing (testing when a student or staff member develops symptoms at school)
• Test-to-Stay (testing for situations in which a student has been identified as a close contact while correctly wearing a mask at school)
