With regard to indoor visitation:
Beginning Monday, November 16, family members and/or close friends may begin calling Ingersoll’s Reception Desk at 518-370-4419 to schedule indoor visits with their loved ones. Please note: No reservations for indoor visits will be taken until Monday.
The decision to expand Ingersoll’s current visitation policy which includes patio visits, window visits and virtual visits via Zoom and FaceTime was reached after “careful review of health department guidelines and with input from Ingersoll’s management team,” notes Caroline Thompson, Executive Director. “With COVID-19 cases on the rise in counties throughout the Capital District,” she says, “it is essential that we remain vigilant in our efforts to safeguard residents and staff.”
There are visitation-related regulations, as mandated by New York State Department of Health, that we must follow. These include a limit on the total number of visitors per day, the taking of temperatures and asking about symptoms and recent travel to and from COVID hotspots. In addition, Ingersoll Place will require each visitor to present written documentation that a COVID-19 test was performed and a negative result received within seven days prior to the visit date. Out-of-state visitors must adhere to all executive orders issued by Governor Cuomo. Any new cases of COVID-19 among residents and/or staff will bring indoor and outdoor (patio) visitation to a halt for 14 days or until the quarantine period is lifted.
Indoor visits will take place in the Library. As with outdoor visits, a visitation supervisor will be present to ensure the correct wearing of masks and use of hand-sanitizers, adherence to social distancing and pre-and post-visit disinfection of the seating area. Visitors will not be allowed access to any other areas within the building, including restrooms.
All visits including indoor, outdoor, window and virtual must be scheduled in advance by calling the Reception Desk at 518-370-4419. Visitation hours will be held Monday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon and from 1 to 3 p.m. Limited weekend hours will be available. Please speak with Reception Desk staff for assistance with scheduling. The updated Visitation Policy in its entirety will be posted tomorrow on the Ingersoll Place website at https://ingersollplace.org/blob/news-files.ashx?ID=7.
As always, please know that everyone at Ingersoll Place is grateful for your continued support and encouragement during these challenging times.
