With regard to testing of staff for COVID-19, one employee has tested positive and is isolating at home. We are currently awaiting laboratory results of weekly testing of all staff which was conducted on Nov. 24. Please note: We are again experiencing a lag time of approximately one week from the time of testing until all results have been received. As required by the NYS Department of Health, we will notify you within 24 hours of any new positive test results as we receive them.
Also required by NYS Department of Health regulations, group activities and communal dining have been suspended until Dec. 11. Residents will be encouraged to remain in their own apartments during this time in an effort to keep everyone healthy. Daily temperature checks and monitoring for changes in health status among residents and staff are ongoing.
A return to in-room dining began today and will continue for the next two weeks. One-on-one room visits by Activities Department staff will be ramped up and will include a variety of games, trivia and puzzles. Arrangements have also been made for residents that wish to pray the Rosary and receive Communion.
In-person visits (patio and library) are canceled until further notice. For assistance in scheduling virtual visits via Zoom and FaceTime and window visits, please call the Reception Desk at 518-370-4419.
As the numbers of positive COVID-19 cases rise throughout the Capital Region, there is likelihood that recurrent intervals of quarantine may happen in the months ahead. We will continue to utilize all appropriate safeguards including personal protective equipment (PPE), cleaning and disinfecting of residents’ rooms and common areas and visitation restrictions to lower the risk of infection and disease transmission.
