Ingersoll Place Communication
2-10-21
February 10, 2021

With regard to weekly testing of staff for COVID-19, all staff have tested negative for the past few weeks. The most recent testing was performed yesterday, Feb. 9. Results are generally received within three to five days.

Residents and staff received their second doses of the COVID-19 vaccine this past Friday, Feb. 5. While some residents said they experienced soreness near the injection site and mild headaches, no serious reactions were reported. COVID-19 vaccination cards have been completed for all residents that received the vaccine. Those residents who manage their own healthcare needs will be given the vaccination cards, directly. Designated representatives for all other residents can pick the vaccination cards in person at Ingersoll Place or request that it be mailed to them.

Small group activities resumed last Thursday much to the delight of residents and staff. When asked about their favorite pastimes, responses to Activities Director Christina Benardo included balloon volleyball, sitting around the fireplace and singing, guided meditation and afternoon movie matinees. This month’s “Resident Spotlight” display was created by Activities Assistant Kayla Franzken. (See photo below.) Kayla is a recent graduate of the College of St. Rose, with a bachelor of arts degree in communications. She joined Ingersoll’s staff this past November.

The Snips Hair Salon at Ingersoll Place will reopen early next week. Requests for appointments can be made by calling Ingersoll’s Reception Desk at 518-370-4419. Beautician Rae is filling appointment slots as quickly as possible and will confirm dates and times with residents and/or designated representatives. The phones are ringing off the hook and everyone’s patience is appreciated.

Also scheduled to reopen Friday, Feb. 19, is the main dining room. Meal times will continue to be staggered in compliance with social distancing requirements which are still in place.

Virtual visits with residents via Zoom and FaceTime have been expanded to include face-to-face window visits in the Main Lobby/Entrance front. Please call Bridget O’Connor, Lead Concierge/Reception Desk for scheduling assistance.
