With regard to weekly testing of staff for COVID-19, there are no positive or presumptive positive cases to report at the present time. If that should change, residents and families will be notified promptly.

Patio and window visits and virtual visits via Zoom and FaceTime are ongoing. For scheduling assistance, please call the Reception Desk at 518-370-4419.

We welcomed a new resident to the Lower West/Memory Care Unit today and are anticipating several other new admissions during October. All new residents must test negative for COVID-19 before making the move to Ingersoll, a requirement of the pre-admission process.

Caroline Thompson, Ingersoll’s newly named Executive Director/Administrator, has begun the transition into her new role. She is scheduled to participate in a regulatory training program sponsored by the Empire State Assisted Living Program (ESAAL). The six-week program provides an in-depth understanding of NYS Department of Health regulations, as well as DOH expectations, historical interpretations and industry trends. It's designed to provide essential information that fosters effective operations, quality resident care and regulatory compliance.

Ingersoll’s annual flu clinic was held yesterday in collaboration with CVS Pharmacy. It was organized by Michelle Rearic, Business Office Manager and Kim Towne, RN, Resident Care Director with support from Activities and Resident Care staff. Nearly 60 Ingersoll residents and employees were vaccinated to help reduce the risk of people catching the flu and spreading it to others. The CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) recommends that everyone six months of age and older gets vaccinated every flu season.

To close out the summer season, Christina Benardo, Activities Director and her staff hosted Boardwalk Week with a variety of special events each day including temporary tattoos, fishbowl game and photo booth cut-outs created by Ingersoll’s in-house artist Michelle Rearic.

Wishing everyone a safe and pleasant weekend.
