Dear Leon Valley Citizens and Businesses: 

  WINTER WEATHER EMERGENCY DECLARATION
 
         This week I signed an emergency declaration for the extreme winter weather event in Leon Valley and the State, which was unprecedented. This enables our city to request support from the state and federal governments to help cover expenses during this time.
          Thanks to Public Works who worked to keep our streets safe by spreading road materials and blocking unsafe streets. *Leon Valley Water System Update 2/19/2021*

While the Leon Valley Water System continues to hold good pressure, we did experience a serious break at one of our well sites overnight. Crews are in the process of repairing the damage and our other well site tanks are full and continuing to pump enough water to fill the tanks and provide water to our entire system at an acceptable pressure. The water is still safe to drink.

In light of this new break, please continue to conserve as much as you possibly can and report any water pipe breaks directly to our Crew Foreman Albert San Miguel at (210) 336-3858. His Crew will shut off the water to your home as quickly as they can get there. Thanks for your continued cooperation and patience as we get through this last leg of the journey!
*San Antonio Water System Update 2/19/2021*

Beginning noon Friday, San Antonio Water System (SAWS) is opening seven water distribution locations (click here) across the city at its pump stations to provide customers with water. SAWS customers are still under a Boil Water Notice for water used for drinking, cooking and ice making.
*URGENT Tiger Sanitation Update*

Due to extended landfill hours, Tiger Sanitation will be servicing the entire City of Leon Valley tomorrow, Saturday, February 20, 2021. They are accepting extra bags to make up for the lost pickups. No bulk items but extra kitchen bags are acceptable. They express their apologies for any inconvenience and wanted to assure you all that no other trash service companies could run during this winter event. They will also be returning to regular servicing schedule on Monday, February 22, 2021.
ALL ROAD ARE OPEN IN LEON VALLEY!
We are seeing temperatures just starting to rise above freezing; and are expecting temperatures of 43 degrees today before returning to freezing by 9 pm tonight. There will be another hard freeze tonight with temperatures falling to 27 degrees, before rising for good on Saturday. 2021 Annual Town Hall Meeting
Limited Capacity of 80 people.
This meeting will be held in-person and streamed live on YouTube; Sponsored by the Helotes Echo. All social distancing guidelines as recommended by the CDC will be strictly enforced.
On February 2nd, the City Council finalized the Town Hall Agenda Topics and discussed audience participation through a website called Mentimeter. This will allow citizens to vote on topics in-person and online. This year the 2021 Annual Town Hall Meeting will be held outside the Leon Valley Conference Center, on Saturday, March 6th from 9AM-1PM.

Interact and vote throughout the meeting by going to www.menti.com. A code will be provided at the start of the meeting. Please remember to bring your own coffee and snacks.
Spring Large Item Waste Pickup
The 2021 Spring Large Item Waste Pick Up is slated for the week of March 1, 2021. Items should be placed by the curb the week of February 22nd, so that Tiger Sanitation is able to estimate the number and type of vehicles/equipment needed to remove the items.
