Communication Solutions Brings Affordable, Creative Marketing & PR Services to Ithaca, NY

The Communication Solutions Group, Inc. is excited to bring cost-effective, goal-focused marketing and public relations services to clients in and near Ithaca and Tompkins County, New York, where the company’s leadership team has long-established connections.


Company President Leza Raffel is an ’89 Ithaca College graduate who now guest lectures at IC on crisis communications and non-profit marketing. Senior Public Relations Specialist Kellie Gates lives in Ithaca and is committed to giving back to the community she loves.


Together, Raffel and Gates will host a free breakfast workshop, “YOUR ATTENTION PLEASE: Promoting Your Organization Through High-Visibility/Low-Cost Public Relations & Marketing.” All are invited to join them from 8 to 9:15 a.m. Mon., Oct. 27, at Cinemapolis, 120 E. Welcome new client: Greenville Borough

We are happy to work with the Borough of Greenville on enhancing its communication efforts, and ensure residents are informed and engaged. This included starting a Facebook and Instagram to reach younger residents, as well as writing and pitching press releases. We recently secured coverage for them in The Record Argus to promote an upcoming event.

President Leza Raffel wrote an article for "The Pennsylvania Fireman" magazine. Her article highlighted Communication Solutions' efforts to launch and successfully manage a collaborative volunteer recruitment campaign for 21 fire companies in the Capital Region.

Media Training to Local Business Banana Nana Pudding

Communication Solutions provided media training to the owner of Banana Nana Pudding in Jenkintown. Staff members were then invited to the taping of Fox29's Kelly Drives segment on Good Day Philadelphia and sample pudding flavors.

The "Oscars" Awards at Quinn & Wilson Realtors

Digital Marketing Manager Jess Lis taught the Quinn & Wilson Realtors' team how to shoot and edit videos for their listings on social media. Each Realtor submitted a video to showcase their new skills and they were screened at the "Oscars" awards ceremony. Realtors took home awards for "Best Presentation of a Fixer Upper", "Best Mirror Selfie", and numerous other categories.

Visioning Session Kickstarts Recruitment Campaign

PR & Marketing Manager Kellie Francello led a visioning session for our new client, Carneys Point Fire Department. This collaborative session inspired the branding tagline, "The Point Where Training & Lifesaving Meet," which is carried over to all recruitment efforts coordinated by our team. This included a new website, www.ProtectCarneysPoint.org, social media management and ads, lawn signs, a booth display, a handout for community events, and much more.


Montgomery County Female Firefighters Make Headlines

To celebrate Women's History Month and promote volunteerism, Digital Marketing Manager Jess Lis organized an all-female firefighter training in Montgomery County. News stations Fox29 and CBS were invited to highlight the skills of local female firefighters.

President Leza Raffel exhibited at the Pennsylvania State Association of Boroughs Conference and also spoke at the PSATC Central Region Summer Conference.

PR & Marketing Internship Reflections

Marissa Castro, Class of 2026 at La Salle University, interned with us in the spring. She designed social media graphics, wrote media alerts, attended video shoots and client events, and much more.

Our team donated 90 pounds of food to the Jenkintown Food Cupboard! We were happy to support their mission to provide food to those who need it most in our community.

This year, we decided to try glass blowing for our company’s summer outing! Our team successfully made beautiful wavy glass bowls, thanks to our excellent teachers at East Falls Glassworks.
