The Behavioral Health Services Division has been made aware of providers submitting client rosters and/or additional PHI in email communications to the Administrative Services Organization (ASO) Falling Colors as well as to State staff. This communication is being sent out to remind providers of the HIPAA requirements in the ASO Provider Agreements.

The ASO has the ability for our Non-Medicaid providers to submit files containing PHI through their Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP). This allows providers to create an account to submit files containing Protected Health Information (PHI) to the ASO or BHSD/CYFD. Once the account has been created and the provider has been granted access; providers will need to submit a ticket to BHSDSTAR Support to inform Falling Colors that they are sending a file containing PHI through the Falling Colors SFTP. This ticket will ensure that the files are then reviewed, downloaded, and provided to the appropriate requestor.

Please contact  [email protected]  for SFTP access or for additional information.

Thank you,

BHSDStar Support
