Dear Members,

Well it has been an exciting week here in Alberta as we start the reopening
process and adapt to the new way of being. I hope that everyone has a chance
to enjoy the long weekend somewhat and gets a bit of a rest. We have a very
short Communication Memo today with just a couple of resources.

REACH Edmonton would like to invite you to join us for a free webinar,
Brooklyn Alcock and Kathryn MacDonald from Zebra Child Protection Centre .
This webinar is developed and organized in collaboration with many community
partners and volunteers. We would like to thank all the collaborators for their
support in developing and organizing this event.
 
What : Introductory overview of how COVID-19 has affected children and families
and how you can support to protect children from maltreatment.

Who : Out of School Time staff and volunteers, community volunteers (open to
anyone who would like to learn more about keeping kids safe!)

When : Thursday, May 21st, 11 am – Noon (MDT)

Some of the Foster Care Agencies received a notice yesterday from the AFKA
regarding ZOOM focus groups for foster and kinship caregivers today (Friday
May 15, 2020) and a survey to complete if the meetings could not be attended.
Just to let you know that the AFKA has extended the survey deadline to Tuesday May 19, 2020 end of day instead of Sunday May 17, 2020. The AFKA Survey

to your caregivers.
